Patience is the biggest part of my weight loss struggle up to this point. Sticking with it, not giving up, being patient. My weight loss has been incredible slow so far, and its extremely frustrating. Progress is happening, but its slower than I had hoped. I’m starting to try some new things, giving up some things and just giving it 100% more. I have to be patient though, like any long term change, it will take time & results won’t happen overnight. Since I started this battle in May, I have only lost 8lbs! I’ve had some ups and downs though and not worked as hard as I could have, but this last two months I’ve really been trying and its taking a toll on my motivation. What do I need to do to make something happen! I keep racking my brain on what to try next. Should I give up alcohol again? Should I do cardio everyday including weights twice a week? Is the Splenda in my coffee keeping the weight on? Am I eating too many calories?
After looking back on my weight loss success the first time, I ate a WHOLE lot better. So my focus now is on eating very clean and only having one cheat meal a week (my Tuesday night out dinners). I also worked out 5x a week and lifted a lot more than I do now. Finding the time to fit in a workout has been a struggle but I’m making the time for it, even if its just at home.
I’ve also decided to give up at least beer and white wine for awhile and have the occasional glass of red wine instead (since I don’t want to give it up completely). The next thing on my list, is to give up Splenda (which is a separate post) and try black coffee with some Stevia… we’ll see how that goes.
Lastly, I’m upping my water intake and trying to stay positive, stay patient and stay motivated. If I can get 5 more pounds off by Thanksgiving I’ll take that as a good sign that something is happening, and not give up!
(on a side note, keeping a daily post on my eating was too much to handle right now so I am logging food when I have time into my fitbit app).
